On the Other Side of the Storm: A Night That Hit Home

O

Tonight was one of those nights I’ll never forget—raw, heartbreaking, and humbling. A friend I care deeply about spiraled into a psychotic episode right in front of me. He believed the world was speaking in code, that everyone was after him, and that even I, someone he’s always trusted, was in on...

How Does It Feel To Be Crazy?

H

I was watching a show the other day, and a character in a mental hospital was asked, “How does it feel to be crazy?” That question hit me in a way I wasn’t expecting. It’s the kind of question that lingers in your mind long after the scene has passed. Because how do you even begin to...

The Power of Sitting Still in Anxiety

T

As I sit here writing this, my anxiety is sky-high. My body is drenched in sweat, my mind racing in every direction, and everything inside me wants to run. The urge to escape is overwhelming—to get up, move, distract myself, do anything but sit here and feel it. But today, I choose to stay. This is...

The Weight of the Past: Redemption and Stregth

T

I sat in the darkness, my hands trembling, my thoughts racing. The weight of my past pressed down on my chest like a boulder, making it hard to breathe. I thought I had escaped the worst of it—thought I had left behind the days of chasing a high that never lasted, the nights of staring at the...

Strength in Faith: How God Has Helped Me Live with Anxiety

S

Anxiety has been a constant companion in my life. It has dictated my actions, distorted my thoughts, and left me feeling powerless more times than I can count. For years, I struggled under its weight, unsure of how to manage the racing thoughts and overwhelming fear that would arise out of nowhere...

Dancing with Darkness

D

There was a time in my life when I thought I could control my addiction. I believed I had the power to decide when to stop, when to give in, when to hide it from the world. But addiction does not allow itself to be controlled. It seeps into every corner of your existence, darkens your mind, and...

Living with the Storm: The Calm Before the Next Battle

L

Some people believe that anxiety is just a passing worry, a fleeting moment of unease that disappears with a little bit of reassurance. But for me, anxiety isn’t a cloud that drifts away—it’s a raging storm that never truly leaves. Some days, it’s just a drizzle, light enough to push through. Other...

myINTROSPECTION Recover, Grow, Thrive

About me

I'm Jose Andrez Sanchez, and my journey through addiction, anxiety, and healing has been anything but simple. It's been raw, painful, humbling—and deeply transformative.

I created myINTROSPECTION as a space to be honest about all of it—the struggle, the growth, the setbacks, and the small victories that don’t always get seen or celebrated.

This blog isn’t about pretending to have it all figured out. It’s about showing up anyway. It’s about finding the courage to speak the truth, even when it’s uncomfortable. And it’s about reaching those who might feel alone in their pain, reminding them that they’re not.

I write from lived experience. From personal loss, relapse, recovery, and the messy middle that rarely gets talked about. I’ve learned that healing isn’t a straight line—and that vulnerability, when shared with intention, can be one of the most powerful tools we have.

Through my writing, I hope to motivate and inspire. So whether you’re here to read, reflect, or just feel a little less alone—thank you. You’re not broken. You’re becoming.

Every second of your life counts.
Let’s keep walking forward—together.
